McMullan CPAs is managed by partners Michael E. Townsend and Chris S. Townsend, as well as an experienced support staff.

MICHAEL TOWNSEND, CPA

Mike is the managing partner of McMullan CPAs. He was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1974 after graduating from Georgia State University. He has been in public accounting with McMullan for over 40 years and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Active in community affairs, Mike is on the Board of Directors and acting Treasurer for ISi. He is one of the founding members of Providence Christian Academy, is the school’s acting Treasurer and on the Board of Directors. Other positions have included serving on the Board of Trustees of Georgia State University Athletic Association, Vice Chairman of a community bank, Chairman of the Finance Committee for University Yacht Club, and membership in the Rotary Club.
Mike is the founder of Estate Management, Inc. In addition, he also serves as trustee of over 50 trusts, comprising more than $85 million in assets. Included in these trusts are 20 special needs trusts, a personal mission of Mike’s. These special needs trusts benefit disabled children and adults.

Throughout his career, Mike has owned, operated, and successfully built companies in industries such as retail, construction, healthcare, financial services, banking, racing, real estate management, and real estate development. Mike’s experience and expertise in these various industries provides him and his team with a unique knowledge of the needs of each industry and the demands of business. This has enabled him to provide wise business consulting, financial guidance, and to become his clients most trusted advisor.
Mike lives in Suwanee, Georgia with his wife Stephanie. They are both members of Peachtree Presbyterian Church. He enjoys gardening, boating, and spending time with his family. Mike and Stephanie have three grown children and six grandchildren who all live in the Atlanta area.

 

CHRIS TOWNSEND, CPA

Chris is a partner at McMullan CPAs and is co-founder of Family Wealth Management, LLC. He graduated from the Goizueta Business School of Emory University in 2002, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Finance, Accounting, and Political Science. He spent five years with Lehman Brothers, Inc. working in Institutional fixed income trading, sales and investment banking. He joined McMullan CPAs in 2007, was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 2009 and became partner in 2010.

Chris is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Chris lives in Cumming with his wife Julie and their three children. He serves as acting Treasurer of Grace Church, a Baptist fellowship in Alpharetta, where he and his wife are both members. His personal interests include hunting, photography, boating, sports and most importantly, spending time with his family.
